Hackathon deadline date and time confusing

Hi

We saw CST which in the US is Central Standard time. We looked at a time date converter which also had CST - and it stated Central Standard Time. It is still August 17th here. So apparently we missed the deadline due to the confusion. What part of the world is this CST?

    This time is Central Standard Time, which is also UTC+8.

    Thanks...Central Standard time 8/17 would have been yesterday after I wrote this text...and after the deadline past...versus the day before.

    I looked up +8 and it's China Standard Time....hence confusion for both of us as it seems you are also confused by this stating it's Central Standard Time. Good to know we are not alone if the folks in the Hackathon are also referencing the wrong time zone.

    With this in mind, sorry we missed the ability to participate as we hoped and worked hard for. We will, next time, go by the UTC versus the acronym.
